Frances Forever joins the countdown at No. 5 with “Space Girl,” a nice bop with some top spot potential. Gus Dapperton reaches No. 2 with “Medicine.” Here’s his take on the song from DIY mag:
“this track defines the album most explicitly,” he explains. “i wrote it as a song that would narrate my life. medicine is about someone who is self destructive so that they can get high off of the process of healing. the hurting phase is of no concern to them. +++”

Kings of Leon are back this week with “The Bandit” as they roll out their first new album in four years. Looking for “Echoing” on the Alt18 in a few months. almost monday is also back with “Broken People,” a song that could jump into the Top 10 next week or fall off all together. Same for The Neighbourhood and “Stargazing.” Who knows how these things work.
Always happy to see BENEE on the countdown. She’s at No. 18 with “Happen to Me.” And loving everything grandson is doing these days. It’s a well-deserved No. 1 for “Dirty.” Listen to the words everyone!
Disappointed to see Mishaal’s “Peddle Bike” drop off, and “Guillotine” by Mansionair and NoMBe continues it’s on-again, off-again (now off) relationship with the countdown. Inhaler and “When It Break” is also gone — for now.

Here’s the updated Spotify playlist.
